Hi, we are the Luers, Al and Corrinne sometimes known as the BEAR GUYS among other names.(Rocky and Goomba to some) We make our home in the little west central Wisconsin village of Prairie Farm. We have been married for nearly 38 years and lived in this area for most of them. Corrinne grew up here and Al near Ridgeland a few miles away.
We have worked (and played) with wood together for most of our married lives including log home building, carpentry, furniture making, signs, hand carving and finally we moved into chainsaw sculpture. What started as a parttime hobby evolved into a full time career for both of us and we're having a ball. We each do our own carving and finishing from beginning to end. Al enjoys making bears, Corrinne likes making birds, and either can create almost anything you can imagine.
If you can, join us at the National Chainsaw Carving Invitational in Hackensack Mn. Sept 29-Oct.1, 2006 where Al will be competing with 9 of the best carvers from around the country.
